The power supply and transducer signal equipment are custom built for
system selected to run off 12 volt DC power and convert to required levels for
individual transducers and amplifiers plus power to operate recorder.
The recorder carried in the vehicle is a seven channel magnetic tape
recorder capable of operation under the severe track conditions. Obviously we
o annot measure more than seven parameters each run without commutation which
increases expense and complicates data reduction.
The data reduction is performed by playback from the recorder to a pen
recorder which provides a hard permanent copy for engineering analysis.
The calibration system is designed to enable accurate field calibration of
complete system as installed in vehicle. This is a custom system to meet
measurement requirements.
