       SUBJECT:
Trip Report to Chrysler Engineering Office-Highland Park, February 27-28, 1969
The Chrysler Engineering Offices and the Dodge Assembly Plant were visited
to explore potential new business areas and hand carry two IPA's.
                   1. Heater Test Stand Modification IPA No. HG-836
This IPA for $22,121 was presented to Mr. F. Deady in the Air Conditioning
and Heater Laboratory with a work scope and design concept proposal for review.
The concept was well received, however, Mr. Deady decided that we should
revise the estimate to include fabrication of a complete new stand instead of modifying
the old stand. Mr. Deady is also anxious for CHO to start on proposals to modify
other laboratory air conditioning and heating equipment test stands in his laboratory.
Race Car Instrumentation IPA No. HG-664A
The complete race car instrumentation IPA including the Lockheed recorder
for a total of $41,C5t> was delivered to Mr. H. P. Bruns, Assistant Chief Engineer,
                   Special Vehicle Development.
A meeting was held with Messrs. Bruns, N. E. March, D. Bacon and L.
Rathgeb to review this IPA work scope and discuss future requirements including the
use of telemetry for track testing. Mr. Rathgeb described the race group’s overall
plan as a three phase effort as follows:
                                 1. Track testing with a Brush 220 pen recorder mounted in the
vehicle recording engine speed, engine vacuum and vehicle yaw
                                       angle.
